Magic at Pevensey...

As everyone was home early yesterday, I did a quick dinner and we drove down to Pevensey Beach for a spot of sunset & low tide magic.

Admittedly, it was bit breezy but it was so beautiful it was worth every goosebump! Despite the miles of sand, there were only a few of us on the beach plus a couple of sandy, wet dogs.

The tide had a little way to go (its 0.90m at 20.03 tonight) and the waves looked amazing - when you just want to run in, and skip over each little break -
but you know full well its freezing in there!

The girls just had to get their feet wet as we walked along banked by the twinkly lights from the Pevensey residents who live at the top of the beach. Imagine looking out your bedroom window at this each evening!

Also, my youngest wants to be a lug wormer again...

Eastbourne Pier reopens...

Eastbourne Pier
Part of Eastbourne pier is reopening this weekend and its only been two months since the fire!
I believe that they have constructed walkways that lead from the front of the pier onto the back two-thirds so you will be able to walk right down to the end.
The fun day starts at noon on Saturday with all the little shops and cafes reopening along with entertainment for all!
And chips, there will be plenty of chips!
There is lots more info at Visit Eastbourne

Battle beauties!

I popped inland today, to Battle, which has a great selection of shops, plenty of space to park and some rather nice lunch options! There is also a little place by the Abbey which sells a table full of beads... Couldn't resist some that reminded me of the beach - earrings to follow!

(More jewellery can be found at Mingels Marvels)

Bit of a run along Norman's Beach!

Norman's Beach, between Cooden and Pevensey, is a fabulous stretch of pebbles and sand and space to run! So easy to park along the top of the beach, there is plenty of space for everyone, including black labs! There is loads of sand as the tide goes out, and plenty of shells to collect...

If you are unsure of which beach loves dogs, check out British Beaches which also has info on facilities, access and water quality.

Thank you Dawn for sharing a fantastic afternoon. One day, I will walk your dog! xx

Sunset over Brighton

Brighton sunset, September '14

One of the great things about mobile phones is being able to capture images like this; no need to carry a camera with you on the off chance of seeing a beautiful sight like this!

Thanks to my friend Sara for sharing an amazing view...

Ravenside - Flashback Friday!

Tide's out at Ravenside
For a whole day out at the beach, a big favourite has to be the beach behind the Ravenside retail park. Free parking on the main road, very delicious cafe, and it's only a short walk along the top of the beaches till you find your perfect spot!

The massive imported stones create the perfect backdrop for your towels and as you can see, when the tide is out, the sand goes on for ever and ever....
